Miramax Films: No Country For Old Men Trailer

Uploaded by: MiramaxFilm
Video Description:
Miramax Films: NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN is a mesmerizing new thriller from Academy Award® winning filmmakers Joel Coen & Ethan Coen, based on the acclaimed novel by Pulitzer Prize winning American master Cormac McCarthy. The time is our own, when rustlers have given way to drug-runners and small towns have become free-fire zones. Featuring a cast that includes Academy Award®-winner Tommy Lee Jones ("The Fugitive," "Men in Black"), Josh Brolin ("Grindhouse"), Academy Award®-nominee Javier Bardem ("The Sea Inside"), Academy Award®-nominee Woody Harrelson ("The People Vs. Larry Flynt") and Kelly Macdonald ("Trainspotting"), NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN is written for the screen and directed by Joel Coen & Ethan Coen, produced by Scott Rudin, Ethan Coen & Joel Coen and executive produced by Robert Graf and Mark Roybal.
The story begins when Llewelyn Moss (BROLIN) finds a pickup truck surrounded by a sentry of dead men. A load of heroin and two million dollars in cash are still in the back. When Moss takes the money, he sets off a chain reaction of catastrophic violence that not even the law - in the person of aging, disillusioned Sheriff Bell (JONES) - can contain. As Moss tries to evade his pursuers - in particular a mysterious mastermind who flips coins for human lives (BARDEM) - the film simultaneously strips down the American crime drama and broadens its concerns to encompass themes as ancient as the Bible and as bloodily contemporary as this morning's headlines.

lol. Everybody says that. The reason the ending ended how it ended was because the movie wasn't about moss and anton, the movie was about Sheriff Bell, and how he thinks the times have changed and it has become more dangerous.
The Moss, anton case was just an example of how dangerous it has become. Understood?

Most people don't understand this movie.
It's quite complex. It a movie that will keep you guessing for day.
Does anyone else ... ( 1 month ago by southerncajuncharm)
Does anyone else find it amusing/interesting that Javier Bardem got the more memorable role, got all the praise, even won an Oscar, yet Brolin is the one who has become Hollywood's new go to tough guy? Granted, Brolin is the man.
Seriously, he played a badass and now he's (according to rumor) in the running for the lead roles in remakes of "Robocop" and "Escape From New York". Not to mention he got the title role in "W" and is hosting SNL.

It's hilarious that, 3 years ago, he was "Mr. Diane Lane", now they are "Mr. and Mrs. Brolin".
Guess he finally showed Hollywood what they were missing out on.
You didn't like it ... ( 1 month ago by tf2Jironimo)
You didn't like it because this movie is very unconventional. It strays away from the usual film structure and appeal. It was a nice shake-up to the "you-know-what-to-expect" kind of films we see all the time. If you thought the movie was bad thats on you.

In a sense the "bad guy" wasn't the victor. He got away, yes but the statement about choice posed by Carla, in a way seemed to have left a contemplation on the mind of Anton. It is unclear if she died or not and it is this that allows for the possibility for internal conflict in Anton's mind. Yes Llewelyn dies but Anton is left with a burning thought in the back of his mind. No one won. There was nothing to be won.

He killed Carla.
It wasn't unclear, he walked out of the house making sure there was no blood on his shoes. The movie makes it clear he doesn't like that.
It irks me to no end that this "film" won a major award.
"No one won. There was nothing to be won."
It's become far to easy for people to make films where nothing happens.
I dont like it. But ofcourse, thats just my point of view.

i saw this just today, and it blew my mind! this was the best movie i've seen since the dark knight and wallE (yes, wallE) the thing that i liked te msot was the ending scene, where he talks about his dream, just that 15 seconds silence after he's done, and then it just ends! brilliant...
I'm sick of people ... ( 3 weeks ago by GrandMasterScotty)
I'm sick of people who can't appreciate epic films like this because they don't adhere to their narrow definitions of what constitutes a 'good' movie.
The people who dislike 'No Country For Old Men' are undoubtedly the same people who never liked 'Taxi Driver' because it was 'weird' and didn't have one bad guy, one good guy, a problem, and a happy resolution.
Anyone who doesn't like this film can go back to watching 'Titanic'. Leave real epics to people who know what they're talking about.

Thank you for writing what I believe is the truth! No one wants to sit back and just let a director tell a story. There are all these rules and financial strings attached to them anymore. I have walked out of some movies so upset the darn thing had been 'dumbed downed' for some viewers! It's insulting! This movie was so mesmerizing because the Cohens told a story - whether we liked it or not!
This is why I watch so many independent movies now!
Great comments!

Uh duh "I don't like the ending" "why does the main character die?" if you're saying/asking things like this you're a cinematically challanged nematode.
