SIMPLE, rap is not music! Disco at least had a nice beat, early 80s had some really nice tunes, mid 80s & up, God AWFUL!!! The music today is really awful it's the worst! Most in my age bracket 60 years would say the the music died when the British invasion hit us strong, mid 60s. Other than the late 50s into the early 60s, I would agree, early 80s was good. Foreigner, Hall & Oats, etc, there were some good groups in the early 80s. My opinion, late 60s & 70s were the worst 90s now is really bad.

40 years ago on December 25th myself and several Marines from Kilo Co. 3rd Battalion 1st Marine Division attended the Bob Hope USO show at Freedom Hill in Danang. Connie Stevens sang this song that day, also in the troup were Ann Margaret and the Gold Diggers. What a relief and a feel for home if only a short time before going back to combat ---------- we will never forget this lady for visiting and entertaining us.

If you took the time to look past the music on tv you would see that Hip-Hop is a prominant genre of music featuring many uplifting and self-propelling songs, so before you say it was the "death" of music, get off your lazy ass and look into it

The scariest thing about Hip Hop and Rap music (what's the friggin difference anyway?)is the damage it does to the drug soaked brains of today's youth. Did you ever listen to the lyrics?? It's all about the virtues of poppin caps in cops, gang raping women, drugs and any other vile thing these thugs can come up with. Funny, you never say any other genre of artists shoot each other or get sent to prison as a badge of honor. They aren't even artists, just bad poets..totally sick ones at that.

Rock was the first genre to use drugs heavily Even the beatles were drug users there is a large difference between rap and hip hop if you payed any attention of my last comment you would see that rap is what you hear on the radio but if you listen to a common album orbrother ali you would see that people have a story thats not about guns and violence but far from it so before you blame hiphop for drugs, take a look at the 70's pal, there wasnt a sober rock and roll artist on this planet
