North Carolina has voted for Republican presidential candidates in the past seven elections and political observers believe it is not Obama territory.
But a surbaban house in the supposedly hostile state for the Democratic presidential candidate has become his campaign office; there is a hive of activity, Obama has more money and volunteers. North Carolina this time round is being tightly contested and is too close to call. Al Jazeera's Barnaby Phillips reports from North Carolina.

I thought it has to do with redistribution of wealth. If you redi the $ of the majority what is that term? As I understand it, redi of the wealth of the billionares and corps, senators, congresss - that - is socialism. Redi/liquidation of assets of corp and govt criminals- socialism. The old sayng - when a nigger's master is sick - "we's sick". I just dont get why anyone would be ok with the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. -Especially if you are poor!!!?

That's not accurate. You're talking about communism again. Actually even with communism they only take means of production. Individuals are still payed differently depending on their professions. That's why the Soviet Union had more doctors per capita than any other country in the world.

Some people use different definitions, and it's pretty much a broad ranging political philosophy. Medicare could be considered socialist. Government funding for Road building or other public works projects could be considered socialist. It pretty much means what you want it to, and therefore means nothing at all.

lol, I grew up in North Carolina and that was a very funny outside looking in view. Yeah there's a conservative far Right base in North Carolina, but it's totally feasible for a Democrat to win there. The town I grew up in was full of leftist hippies for example, they move there for the scenery. Besides them, there's a huge amount of people educated moral conservatives in the state that would more than likely vote democrat if the candidate would just appeal to there values a little.
