Question: Can we use "come through with flying colors" in any situation? e.x.
I have come through quiz with flying colors.
Usually "come through with flying colors" is used in connection to an academic test, but it's possible to use this expression when talking about any situation that proves to be a test of some sort. Example: a political candidate's first major debate. "The young candidate came through with flying colors."
(NOTE: "feel the need to express gratitude...")
I'm an English teacher . I like this expression " passing the exam with flying colors " very much . In fact , I love colors ,especially blue , white and rose . Imagine our life without colors !Unbearable !Jennifer ,can we keep in touch ?
Here are some corrections to think about and learn from:
"I've been taking classes at a library for almost two years, and I've been taking advantage of every good piece of material I can find. What you do is so awesome. I'm very excited to know that a person like you is doing a lot to help people like us."
Such as you spell it as 'color' and 'neighbor', but in Australia we spell those words as 'colour' and 'neighbour'.
Oh and by the way, black and white are NOT colours, they are shades.
In the case of English dialects, I recognize and embrace them all. What a dull world it would be if we all spoke one language without any variation.
Really you are wonderful .
I from brazil and started study english now.
