Hi!
I am a bit puzzled as this video shows the milk storage in the freezer for 3 months and in the uk the doctors say it can stay for 6 months. Can anybody explain this please?

Doctors in the United States are dumb. (seriously) 5-6 months is usually the max in the freezer.

no they don't run out... however each woman is different. Depending on where her supply is at, what time of day she is pumping, and other factors -- it could take 5 min to a long time to get 6oz when using an electric pump. Every woman is different when it comes to pumping.

For hand pumping - I like the advent pump that is ~40 bucks. However I really hate hand pumping and would highly recommend just renting a hospital pump. They get the job so much faster than even the expensive Medela Pump in styles. I used a PIS for a while and switched to a Medela Classic hospital pump because it was just so much faster (7-8min of pumping vs 20 min).

Our lactation consultant (in the US) said it can be stored in an individual freezer compartment connected to the fridge that is opened frequently for 2-3 months, but can last for 6-7 months in a deep freezer.

These machines aren't cheap enough for everyone.
Hand-expressing into bottles can work as well,
AND can even be quicker for some. Womens' boobs
are ALL different. There is no simple way with
just a machine. Don't be afraid to ask for help
from anyone with experience.

Shame you have to hold the breast pumps to the breast. I have seen a neck cord on you Tube which holds them for you.

Yeah, you're right! Buy some milk and ignore the fact that it helps the baby grow physically, mentally, and stops hunger more easily!

I couln't get my baby to breastfeed...I was 15 when i had her and had no idea on how to breastfeed even tough my mom told me how..i had to use the breast pump and it was a lot of work..but my baby girl had her milk one way or the other, now she's 22 months, healthy and strong =D

OMG I have the same pump The Medela Pump N Style and I love it! I pump for my son who is 6 months cause he would never attach to my nipple so I continuestly pump into Bottles:) But Its so wroth it!

babies are not cows. People who give formula have higher risk of ear infections in their children. And cows milk is not suitable.
