There must be the "odd little thing" that rankled slightly when you heard about it? Something from history maybe?
Perhaps something current?....or maybe some little thing from SOP's?
Then again....you probably think things are simply peachy just the way they are.
.....ah.....it must be nice to be so righteous. Sort of all warm and snugly.
Yeah......Well........Eeeerm......Hey, I guess it's a point of view.
It's just that the last perfect little soul I met was 16....and had PE4 strapped to her body.
But I guess you're right about God loving perfection......they seem to be the ones He welcomes most often.
What do I dislike about America?
Gosh!...Where to start?
I guess it won't matter what I say...the appaling education of Americans today won't let you understand much of it anyway...But here are a few headings..
1960 Iraq.
Suez.
Propaganda 1950-1989
"Blue-on-blue"
Supporting terrorism...Northern Ireland, Contras...Afghanistan...etc.
McCarthy.
I'm running out of characters..not reasons..
If you can talk sensibly about a single one of the headings I gave you.....I'll listen.. and perhaps you'll have converted someone to your way of thinking.
Alternately....just swear a lot and ignore all the headings....and I'll understand you were unable to defend America using your witts.
Time to choose.
By the way...Wing chun(chinese) Ronin(japanese) Wingchunronin?....an all american eh?
My own favourite Roosevelt quote is "Walk softly...but carry a big stick".
America today has a great love of sticks.....but has forgotten how to walk the walk.
You're just some dopey kid with an ambition to live a life that means something. Not unique.
The ambition though....a good thing!
You might want a better role model than someone who lost a war and ended up burnt in a ditch though.
Sorry.
Seem's to me he was a great man. Not least because those things he accomplished...he accomplished whilst in great pain and with failing health.
I believe, at heart, he was a humanitarian. He seemed to care a great deal about the people he served..and, unusually, those whose lives he affected. He seems to me to have been a great leader...But as an American, you would know better.
Ive always wondered if FDR would of used the A-bombs on the Japanese.
I only meant that the walk was soft. The stick hung in the background. It just seems that, these days, the stick is all we ever see on the news. Dead children. Prisoners molested. Women crying.
I guess old Theodore might have done it differently.
But then, he didn't live in these times, did he?
I can't help thinking though...'leaders shape their times'....and America hasn't had a Roosevelt for a long time.
Shame really.
But then....Kennedy's neurologic disease was.
So.....go figure.........
But if you were to ask me who my favorite president was, itd be James K. Polk, the most underrated man in our history in my opinion.
...But I'm intrigued...so I'll have a look.
For me though...the heady days of Franklin Delano R.
With todays economic climate....maybe Obama has an FDK in there somewhere?......lets hope.
Trouble is...lifes not at all like Hollywood.
Just because you want it....don't make it so.
Lets hope he ain't the post turtle.
We really deserve something better than another turtle.
GO OBAMA....or go...Obama.
