not all of the descendants are english. english is a living language and changes with time. if you take standard US english you can tell that the english that was spoken during colonial times was a different english and changed in england as it had in the states. did you know at a time Philadelphia had the second most largest english speaking population after London? watch Gangs of New York on youtube as well. like a speaking scene
