this movie was a total dissappointment coming off of rocky... it turns out there were a buncha spinoffs of rocky but this was the only produced... this 1 doesnt even have the same brad n janet... it has the ppl tht played magenta n such but there r no time warps no transvestites and no affairs!!!!!!!!!

hey guys.. I'm a really big fan of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" (seen it live on stage once) and was REALLY disappointed by this movie. I thought it would be as cool and freaky as RHPS.. I thought that Rich O'Brien can be better than that.. it's some kinda crappy.. Very disappointing.
and it's somehow confusing, at first I didn't know who's who and why :P
All in all --> I hate it -.-

Shock Treatment is not the RHPS Sequel, it's the Equal. This is a great film, and better seen live. It's not supposed to take off where RHPS left off, it just happens to have Brad and Janet as the main character. He tells you that, it's from the cast that gave you RHPS, not Its the sequel come watch my movie. If you saw the entire film you would have understood.

Stop comparing Shock Treatment to Rocky Horror!
Shocky is not a sequel, it is not intended to capture the same themes as Rocky Horror, the original cast had other engagements and could not reprise their roles, and I repeat again ITS NOT ON THE SAME LEVEL AS ROCKY HORROR!
It is a spin off including some of the same characters. It is an excellent movie in and of its own right, if you people would just stop looking at it as if it were supposed to follow in Rocky's footsteps.

It's not a /fact/ actually. One of the commonly accepted premises to the movie is "What if Brad & Janet turned left, and DIDN'T go to Frankenfurter's?", meaning an alternative timeline. Notice that in the film, they make NO references to the actions of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, other than having characters of the same name.
As I said, the two movies are totally different - don't expect to watch this movie if you want to see Rocky Horror, Pt 2.

Okay, RHPS fans, don't be mean to ppl for liking shock treatment. as a RHPS fan myself, I had to remember this had little/nothing to do with RHPS to enjoy it. And i kinda liked it once. I tried to watch it again and I couldn't do it. The movie was ALRIGHT but not that great. Plus don't you think the songs were all just a little 80s-radio for a musical?

well I agree with you but Richard O' Brian wanted this to be the sequel but it just didn't work out. There were supposed to be three sequels to rocky but no one wanted to do it again and considering the fact that tim curry stated that he would never return as Dr. Frank (sadly) but yeah.

OK. I know that some Rocky Horror fans don't like Shock Treatment. The two musicals are completely different in style so that is to be expected. But, one must acknowledge that Shock Treatment is well ahead of its time with the idea of TV manipulation and the songs are very well done. I love this musical very much, and although I like the story of RHPS much better, I love the music of Shock Treatment more.
